Since its beginnings, one of the major purposes of the Wiese Foundation has been to recover the great cultural legacy of Peru and share it with our country and the world. The Wiese Foundation has been working tirelessly since 1990 in the Archaeological Project of El Brujo, turning a no-man’s land —damaged by clandestine diggings— into an enormous source of knowledge and amazement, protected by careful and expert research.

From the traces of the first settlers who established in the Chicama valley to the Colonial reservations, going through the first ancient Peruvian farmers and the higher civilizations which built magnificent ceremonial centers and sophisticated irrigation systems, the Archaeological Site of El Brujo keeps invaluable treasures of our history, which the Wiese Foundation has made available to all. Huaca Cao has been opened to the public since 2006. Soon the Cao Museum will be inaugurated —its main character will be the most impressive archaeological discoveries in recent times, the Señora de Cao.
